The voice on the telephone said, "Hey Howard, if you are praying that the fire will go AWAY from your house, please stop. It is getting dangerously close to my friend!"
I told her that I had not been praying that specifically, but I would start to be more specific. What we need, (coming from an armchair forest fire fighter...) is a gentle wind from the N/E.
It would drive the fire back onto already burnt land. Oh yes, and a good rain might be a good idea.
We are still on evacuation alert. The fire is burning about a mile from our house to the west. The pick up truck is partially loaded, with the other stuff staged at the garage door. We could be out in ten minutes if we had to.
"Lord, please send the fire back on itself. Keep the fire fighters safe, and protect homes and animals, and if you please,...send rain. Thank you." Amen.

I didn't know there was a fire burning near you all. Be safe and keep us updated!
And oh yes, we most definitely have to come back up there. I told Isaac we needed to start saving for four or five year anniversary. Looks like we're going to DisneyWorld next year with my family, so 2010 is out. But it is definitely on my list of 'places I loved so much I MUST go back.'
