The Good Part

God's grace was sufficient through the funeral. We were able to serve the grieving family and make many other new acquaintances. Scarcely was the funeral past and we were busy playing "catch up" from the loss of a week, and then off to a NAIM staff meeting.

I am reminded of the saying, "Beware of the Barrenness of a Busy Life." I remember the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42, "Now as they were traveling along, He entered a certain village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. And she had a sister called Mary, who moreover was listening to the Lord's word, seated at His feet. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, 'Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.'
But the Lord answered and said to her, ' Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only a few things are necessary, really only one: for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.'

It is easy to be doing truly good things, and yet lose sight of the really important things. Fellowship with the Lord is the most important thing. I have been so busy that I feel like I am running on empty. I still have a big list of pressing things that are demanding my time, but I am deliberately choosing "the good part" and making time for it.

I agree with this whole-heartedly. It seems that a busy life needs constant prioritization. I find myself doing this often so I don't lose sight of what's truly important. Don't lose touch of who truly matters. I love you both very much!
