When I go hunting, I pray and ask God to give me an animal. I don't ask for a deer with a huge antler rack. I don't own or use a book with trophy animal scores. I don't even know how to measure antlers to score them. Why?
You can't eat antlers. I can make arrow head tools from them, or use them for other tasks, but that is all. I don't have any big fish stuffed and mounted on my wall, either. I take what Creator gives me and am thankful.
So, for me it makes sense when I wrote about the birth of Katie, to simply say that she was healthy. I didn't include additional measurements, like the length or weight. My grand-daughter is not subject to measurements like a trophy bass.
I can see it now,... it is Judgment Day. I am standing in the crowd of the Redeemed and I hear an angel speak in the heavens, "Howard Johnson, birth weight blah blah and length blah blah, step forward!"
I don't think so.
It is more important how we finish the race than how we began. Well, that's my take on it.

Looks like someone got in trouble for brevity?
Love it! I couldn't agree more! As if we need to share stats. I love that you think this way... Love you, daddy...
